Historic Avalon House, built in 1895, was the original Mine Manager's residence. Now beautifully restored, Avalon offers a mixture of quality accommodation, great coffee and food at its cafe, function rooms and a bar lounge in the classic main room of the old residence. Visitors can also enjoy the gardens which run down to the Ovens River, the gallery and enjoy live music each month. The building is fully wired for broadband and provides meeting rooms with all facilities including photocopying, colour printing and data projector.
The accommodation includes 2 two bedroom units, Avalon Rest (sleeping six) with spa and drying room, twin TVs and double shower and private garden, and Wearyall which sleeps eight in a very comfortable but more basic unit. Our one bedroom cottage, Avalon Retreat, sleeps 2. All units have internet, private gardens and/or decks and courtyard gardens. Pets are welcome. Prices range from $110 per night to $150 per night for two people and $25 for each extra adult (children 6-15 are $15, infants free). Come and join us on our huge deck under the 100 year old trees.
